Treasure hunt

Idea

A tour/treasure hunt run by clues available via SMS or a URL. Teams start with the first clue and then travel around a geographical region solving the puzzles. At the end they are rewarded somehow. It is like a car rally by SMS where puzzles have to be solved. ie. meant to be fun but it is also competitive. The game can be played competitively where you have teams starting out at the same time with fresh clues. You could have non competitive games where the idea is to lead the party around a space, eg. a park, city. The participants have to work for it. A spin off is to take the QA aspect away and just have a tour.

Business

It might be possibe to make money on the SMS aspect of this. Harder to provide info but suitable if just asking questions.

Action 360

Inspiration

KAP has been a major influence. In this case a camera is held aloft by a ballon or kite and a 180 degree photo is taken towards the ground. A subsequent image is then taken towards the sky and the two images are combined.

Idea

The the creation of a new camera rig which enables 360 degree phots to be taken in a sigle instant. The rig would hold two cameras facing away from each other. Each camera has a 180 degree fish eye lense. The rig could be suspended by some fishing line or held up by a pole. This ensures that there is minimum interference from scaffolding. The camera could be triggered instantaneously remotely. The result is two images encompassing 360 degrees. The images can then be stitched together.

Detail

The rig would be used in situations where i) there was action and ii) there were opposing subjects. If the stitch line is one the dividing line between the subjects then you have a good shot of both. Examples include concerts, theatre, sporting events. With KAP the dividing line is the horizon. With Action 360 the dividing line is between the subjects.

Problem

This dividing line between the subjects could be tricky to hide and it may well ruin the image. Care would have to be taken to ensure that the dividing line could be massaged in PS to remove any lumps and bumps.

Outcome

I believe that this type of photography could bring a new slant to old subject matter.
